Summary : The site of Roman turret 28B, part of the defences on Hadrian's Wall. There are no surface remains.
More information : [NY 8937 7082] Turret 28B [G.S.C.] (Site of) [T.I.] (1) Turret 28B, at the normal distance beyond 28A [NY 87 SE1] was located in 1920. (2-3) The site, though under grass, is indicated by slight traces of protruding stonework at NY 8935 7093. The stones are barely discernible, but appear to outline a structure measuring approximately 4.0m N-S and 5.0m E-W. Surveyed at 1:2500. (4) There is no surface trace of the turret; OS position (authority 1) is actually at NY 8937 7091. (5) Scheduled (6) Located on the English Heritage map of Hadrian's Wall 2010. (7)
