Summary : Medieval / post medieval ridge and furrow ploughing in the parish of Caldecott is visible as earthworks and cropmarks on historic aerial photography and lidar imagery, though some of the earthworks appear to have been levelled by the latest 2013 vertical imagery.
More information : Medieval / post medieval ridge and furrow ploughing in the parish of Caldecott is visible as earthworks and cropmarks centred at approximately SJ 430 515 on historic aerial photography and lidar imagery, though some of the earthworks appear to have been levelled by the latest 2013 vertical imagery. A number of broad bank features visible as cropmarks and earthworks probably represent contemporary plough headlands.

The ridge and furrow ploughing initially identified in the monument record (UID 1573801) for medieval settlement around the farm known as 'The Beach' near Castletown was incorporated into this parish record due to the lack of mapped settlement remains to distinguish it from other ploughing across Caldecott (1-3).
