Summary : A Second World War military camp is visible on aerial photographs taken in 1946. This camp was situated to the north of Copenacre military camp (EH monument 1536692). The site was enclosed by a fence and had two pillboxes. The site has since been redeveloped but air photos taken in 2009 show some buildings, including the pillboxes, survive.
More information : A Second World War military camp is visible on aerial photographs taken in 1946. This camp was situated to the north of Copenacre military camp (EH monument 1536692) at ST 8531 7076. The site was enclosed by a fence and had pillboxes at ST T8537 7089 and ST 8541 7070. The site has since been redeveloped but air photos taken in 2009 show some buildings, including the pillboxes, survive.(1-2)
