MONUMENT NO. 15783

DESCRIPTION + /

Remains of probable pele at Smalesmouth. The 1 metre thick stone walls survive up to maximum of 1.6 metres high and define an L-shaped building, thought to have been a pele tower. The remains of probably contemporary, stone-walled stock enclosures lie to the north of the tower, suggesting that the site may have been a fortified farmstead.
