Summary : A number of Roman conjoined rectilinear enclosures are visible as cropmarks on air photographs. The ditched enclosures run along a northeast-southwest alignment. The enclosures are situated to the southwest of Aballava Roman fort and may represent the remains of the fort's vicus.
More information : A number of Roman conjoined rectilinear enclosures are visible as cropmarks on air photographs, at NY 3256 5891. The ditched enclosures run along a northeast-southwest alignment and some show evidence of internal divisions. The enclosures are situated to the southwest of Aballava Roman fort (10705) and may represent the remains of the fort’s vicus.
