Summary : A probably Iron Age or Roman possible curvilinear enclosure is visible as cropmarks on aerial photographs. This enclosure is defined by a series of linear ditches defining a semi circular area which if it were a complete circle would measure 26 metres in diameter. The southern half of this possible enclosure would be under the field to the south. This enclosure is located 40 metres from the SW corner of a square enclosure (NMR monument record 1437504), and is likely to be associated. This site has been mapped from aerial photographs as part of the South East Warwickshire and Cotswolds HLS Target Areas National Mapping Programme. |
More information : A probably Later Prehistoric, Iron Age or Roman possible curvilinear enclosure is visible as cropmarks on aerial photographs. The site is centred on SP 39363 33227, and extends over an area which measures 25 metres east-west and 21 metres north-south. This enclosure is defined by a series of linear ditches defining a semi circular area which if it were a complete circle would measure 26 metres in diameter. The southern half of this possible enclosure would be under the field to the south. This enclosure is located 40 metres from the SW corner of a square enclosure (NMR monument record 1437504), and is likely to be associated.
