TURRET 38B

DESCRIPTION + /

The site of Roman turret 38B, part of the defences on Hadrian's Wall. The earthwork remains and a road linking it to the Military Way, are visible on air photographs. The turret exists as an earthwork platform 13.4 metres east to west, and 6.8 metres north to south. There is an internal scarp up to 0.3m high and it was excavated in 1911.
