Summary :
Two fourteen-storey slab blocks built as public housing in a redevelopment area. The blocks contain 104 dwellings in total. Construction of the blocks began in 1966.

The blocks were constructed by Sunderland County Borough Council. The Primary and Alternate addresses of Devonshire Tower and Eglinton Tower are the individual addresses of each tower block; both are current and of equal status. The Alternate Name is the name that was given to the contract for the development. (1)
The blocks were built using direct labour; the proposed cost of which was £347,609. (2)
