CHURCH OF ST MICHAEL

A Parish church, dating from the 12th century. The west tower is by Blenkinsop of Helbeck, 1513-1525. The church is made from sandstone blocks with chamfered plinth to the chancel. There is stepped buttressing and low-pitch lead roofs. The church consists of a 3-stage west tower, a nave with an added north aisle and a chancel.
