Summary : Four slab blocks linked with deck access at first floor level. The blocks were built as public housing as part of the Hebburn New Town Redevelopment to the design and specification of the contractors, Stanley Miller Ltd. Construction was approved by committee in 1971 and took place in 1974. Two of the blocks have since been demolished.

The Primary address, Alternate address and the Former addresses are the addresses of the individual tower blocks. Northumberland Court and Cumberland Court are listed as Former addresses as the blocks are now demolished.Northumberland Court is known to have been demolished beween 2007 and 2009. The date of demolition for Cumberland Court is unknown. The Alternate name was the name given to the contract for the development. (1)

Durham Court is a nineteen-storey point block, consisting of 111 flats (37 one-bedroom, 74 two-bedroom). Westmorland Court is a nine-storey block consisting of 133 flats (14 one-bedroom, 119 two-bedroom). Northumberland Court was a fifteen-storey slab block of 89 flats (43-one bedroom, 46 two bedroom). Cumberland Court was a six-storey slab block of 114 dwellings of both flats and maisonettes (17 one-bedroom, 16 two-bedroom, 81 three-bedroom). Construction is of reinforced concrete frame with pre-cast external concrete cladding panels. The tender accepted from Stanley Miller Ltd was £2,750,902. The development was opened by the Chairman of the Council, Councillor John Evans. (2)
