Summary : A Second World War military camp is visible as earthworks and structures on historic vertical air photographs. It appears that all of these features have now been levelled.
More information : A second world war military camp is visible as earthworks and structures on historic vertical air photographs at SE2507 9987 on the south side of the village of Scorton and to the immediate south-east of Scorton Airfield (UID 1409216). This camp comprised a number of rectangular structures and between these over 12 small rectangular enclosures with blast walls. Many of the earthworks and former structures survived as low earthworks until 1995 but have now been built over. (1-3)
