More information : A Second World War pillbox and barbed wire are visible as structures on air historic photographs at SE241 972. The pillbox was at SE2417 9722 and the barbed wire lay in a circuit to the west and north. The location of these features has now been built on. This was probably part of a system of defences that encircled RAF Catterick UID1391330 (see also UIDs 1485642, 1485653, 1486058, 1486086 and 1486088). (1-2)
