Summary : 20th century coliery. In 1954 the colliery employed 1000 menand produced 440,000 tons of coal per annum. It had two horizontal winding engines. All of the buildings have been destroyed, only the converted pithead bath houses surviving. These were built by the Miner's Welfare Committee in the 1930s. The site has otherwise been landscaped.
