Summary : Second World War Type 22 pillbox east of the Newton Toney Road at Boscombe Down airfield. This is one of fourteen pillboxes built to defend the airfield, of which ten survive. It differed from the normal Type 22 pillbox in that it was not provided with an anti-ricochet wall. It was built outsied the airfield perimeter to defend the HF/DF radio station.
