More information : A Second World War 'Permanent Starfish' and 'QL' bombing decoy located at Grimsby from TA 331 061 to TA 340 048. It was constructed as part of the 'N-series' of decoys to deflect enemy bombing from Royal Navy installations on the Humber estuary. It is referenced as being active on 01-AUG-1941. Further 'N-series' bombing decoys for the Humber were located at Ganstead (TA 139 340), Bilton (TA 161 317), Paull (TA 188 240), Little Humber (TA 197 237), Thorney Crofts (TA 210 227), Immingham Range (TA 235 136), East Halton (TA 138 231), and Humberston (TA 333 057). Aerial photography shows that by 1976 the site had become part of a caravan and leisure park and no features of the decoy survive. (2)
