Summary : An Early-Middle Bronze Age round barrow, part of the barrow cemetery at Field Farm, Burghfield. The barrow was visible as an incomplete cropmark, its eastern half had been destroyed by earlier gravel extraction, and is situated about 15 metres to the northeast of the bell barrow ( SU 67 SE 155). Excavations in advance of gravel extraction in 1985 found it to have an external diameter of 24.5 metres. A possible unaccompanied primary cremation was also recorded.
More information : The round barrow is visible as a cropmark and has been mapped from aerial photographs. The round barrow was identified as a ring ditch. (for full details see parent record Hob uid 241546) (1)

The ring ditch (ring ditch 418) is situated about 15 metres northeast of the bell barrow ( SU 67 SE 155) and survived as a cropmark, although the eastern part had been destroyed by gravel extraction. The barrow was excavated in 1985 in advance of gravel extraction and was found to have diameter of 24.5 metres. A possible unaccompanied primary cremation was recorded. (2)
