Summary : A Post Medieval tree enclosure ring associated with Scaleby Castle is visible as a slight earthwork on aerial photographs.
More information : NY 4513 6245. A Post Medieval tree enclosure ring, probably a landscape feature associated with Scaleby Castle, is visible as a slight earthwork on aerial photographs and has been mapped by English Heritage's Hadrian's Wall NMP. The feature is located 225 metres to the east of the castle. It appears as a slight interrupted bank 50 metres in diameter with an external ditch. (1-2)
