More information : An Iron Age/Roman trackway is visible as cropmarks on air photographs. The trackway is divided into two sections, one running for the most part on a southeast to northwest axis, with a southwest bend on the southeast side is visible as two linear ditches on either side of a possibly mettled trackway, centred at NZ 2115 3158. The other section runs roughly southwest to northeast from NZ 2114 3155 to NZ 2102 3147 and appears to branch from the previously mentioned section of trackway towards Binchester Roman Fort (NZ 23 SW 16). Like the previous section this appears to be made from a raised mettled trackway, however no traces of ditch are visible on either side.
