Summary : No.2 (6-inch) Gun coastal battery. Three World War II gun emplacements visible within the 19th century battery. Constructed during the period 1939 to 1940. Part of the Northumberland coast defences - Defences of the Northumberland coast line and immediate hinterland. Of the four seaward (east) facing emplacements, the second from left contained a 9.2in gun whilst the rest were 6in. The remains of an attached magazine are visible.
