Summary : Site of a Second World War pillbox documented on a 1941 German map of British defences at Camber Castle, to the south of Rye. The pillbox would have been constructed of reinforced concrete and built in late 1940. The pillbox was not visible on historical aerial photographs taken from 1946.

The pillbox referred to above (Source 1) was not visible on aerial photographs taken from 1946 onwards and was therefore presumably demolished before 1946, if the German map of British defences is accurate. The pillbox was viewed as part of the South East Rapid Coastal Zone Assessment Survey NMP. (2)
