Summary : Second World War defended locality at Devil's Dyke. The defended locality at Devil's Dyke was set up in 1940 and was prepared for all-round defence, manned by one company of infantry with four medium machine guns and two two pounder anti-tank guns. It had a wired perimeter and fire positions for each man, as well as shelters for section, platoon and company headquarter. There was also an artillery observation point.
