Summary : Second World War Pickett Hamilton Fort, said to have been 'still in use' into the 1980s.
More information : Pickett Hamilton Fort, said to have been 'still in use' into the 1980s. The hydraulic system was under water, but this has been drained and a mechanical assessment found the top section of the fort could be raised and lowered. There is a current (2001) danger that it will be removed.
