Summary : A Second World War rectangular pillbox is situated within Broomfield Priory and about 78 metres south of Back Lane. The pillbox was built of concrete and corrugated iron shuttering and was constructed in the period of 1940 to 1941. It features nine embrasures and the walls are about one metre thick. At the time of a field visit on 30th October 1994 it was noted that the pillbox was in good condition. |
