The pillbox referred to above (1) is visible on aerial photographs taken in 1947. The pillbox is of a Type 24 design and centred at SS 9959 4395. It faces northeast towards Dunster Beach. The entrance is on the southwest side. The pillbox was still extant on aerial photographs taken in June 1962 but was not visible on aerial photographs taken in 1964 and was likely demolished to make way for a canalised section of waterway.
