Summary :
A Royal Observer Corps monitoring post. The site was built as part of an extensive network of posts designed to confirm and report hostile aircraft and nuclear attacks on the United Kingdom. It was opened in June 1968 and closed in September 1991. At the time of the Defence of Britain survey the site was found to be in a good condition. It was located underground on Wroughton Airfield on the west side of a track from an emergency exit to Priors Hill. 150 yards north of Hanger D3. The airfield is now owned by the Science Museum and is a secure site.
