Summary : The site of a Royal Observer Corps monitoring post. The site was built as part of an extensive network of posts designed to confirm and report hostile aircraft and nuclear attacks on the United Kingdom. It was opened during May 1962 and closed in September 1991. At the time of the Defence of Britain survey the site was found to be in a good condition. The site was located underground close to the Exeter Airport perimeter track 100 metres west of the terminal building. The post was demolished on August 6th 2002 as it was regarded as a danger to large aircraft using the adjacent taxiway.
