Summary : A World War Two aircraft hangar (Type T2) at RAF Northolt. This is a large steel framed building clad with corrugated iron sheeting, situated to the north side of the flying field. It has a gabled roof and end opening doors with guides on stantions to support them when open. There are strips of windows to the side and roof. It is known as Building 311 in the RAF Northolt internal numbering system.
More information : The description of the Aircraft hangar (Type T2) at RAF Northolt in the record summary is based on photographic evidence and site plans contained in the relevant Buildings File for Northolt, which held in the NMR (please see related archive). It is curious to note that none of the other sources so far consulted mention a Type T2 hangar at the site. (1)
