Summary : Landscape park to Lullingstone Castle, created from a Medieval deer park possibly enclosed in 1368, during the mid to late 18th century by Sir Thomas Dyke and Sir John Dixon Dyke. By the 1670s the gardens comprised a series of formal enclosures. These were restored during the 18th century but were later replaced with informal pleasure grounds and gardens.The kitchen garden contains a Tudor style herb garden designed by Eleanour Sinclair Rohde in 1946. |
