Summary : The site of Roman turret 50A, part of the defences on Hadrian's Wall. The north half of the turret is buried beneath the road, and the south half survives as a slight earthwork at the edge of the adjoining field at the position shown on the current Ordnance Survey 25 inch map. The earthwork element of the turret is visible on air photographs and digital elevation models derived from Environment Agency lidar and Structure from Motion taken from 2017 specialist oblique photography. |

Visible as slight unsurveyable ground swelling. (4)
The N half of the turret is buried beneath the road, and the S survives as an amorphous swelling at the edge of the adjoining field at the position shown on the current OS 25 inch map at NY 6020 6586. (5)
