More information : NY 6595 6607 Roman building stone (Roman Inscriptions in Britain No.1844) found on the wall a little to the east of Thirlwall Castle (sector 46-46a), later built into a house at Greenhead, from which it was taken out in, or before, 1828. Now (1941) built upside down into the west face of the outhouse built on to the north side of Holmhead farm-house, east of Thirlwall. Inscribed - ciuitas Dumnoni. (1)
