Milecastle 46, just west of the Vallum deviation north of Carvoran, was located in 1907 and examined in 1946. (2-3)
There are no structural remains of the milecastle, but its site is distinguished by a slight, turf-covered platform. Resurveyed at 1:2500. (4)
NY 6646 6601. The milecastle survives as a scarp with a maximum height of 0.3m, no walling is visible. The Wall Ditch to the north is broken down and silted, and there is no certain causeway; the glacis is interrupted. (5)
