Summary : The Loud Bank Cutoff was opened in 1886 to avoid the Loud Bank incline on the Stanhope and Tyne Railway. Although successful, its success was improved only when the Annfield Plain Cutoff , of which it became an integral part, opened in 1893. Closed in 1964.
