Summary : The Lincoln and Retford Railway was conceived as part of the scheme to link Sheffield and Grimsby/New Holland via Lincoln. It opened in 1850 between Charlborough Junction on the Sheffield and Lincolnshire Junction Railway and Sykes Junction on the GNR's Lincoln and Gainsborough Railway.
