Summary : The Sleaford and Boston Branch Railway was opened between Barston, near Grantham, and Sleaford in 1857, and on to Boston in 1859, and was worked from the beginning by the GNR. In 1864, the GNR obtained the Nottingham and Grantham Railway, (Linear 1007), the combined line being renamed the Sleaford, Boston and Midland Counties Railway.
