Linear banks, probably related to the two streams in the plantation, and a ditch (probably a former water channel) were observed in the northern end of the plantation during English Heritage's archaeological investigation of the fields around Egglestone Abbey during November 2000. The Survey Report - 'The Medieval and Later Landscape at Egglestone Abbey, Teesdale, County Durham' - contains further information about this plantation. (1)
