A small stone bridge, possibly of nineteenth century date, carries a farm track over a stream at the entrance to a field and was clearly built for this purpose.
The bridge was recorded as part of the archaeological investigation of the area around Egglestone Abbey by English Heritage in November 2000. The illustrated Survey Report - 'The Medieval and Later Landscape at Egglestone Abbey, Teesdale, County Durham' - should be consulted for an overview. (1) |
