The first tower known as Palmers (2) or Mydell Tower (3) is 18 foot wide and twenty five feet high. The tower is faced with square flint facing and three Caen stone arrow slits are visible in the upper storey. It has recently been repaired and is in a sound condition. The generally accepted name for this tower is Palmer's Tower (see L.A. pamphlet). A later roof has been added to it. Ground photograph. (5) |
