Smoking Colonnade

Summary : Curved wooden colonnade, erected between 1854 and 1859, for the pensioners of the Royal Hospital for Seamen to smoke under. It was designed by the Hospital's architect Philip Hardwick and was shortened at its western end in 1883 to make space for a racquet court, now part of the Pepys Building.
