Summary : A bowl barrow, part of the barrow group on Oakley Down (SU 01 NW 19). Listed by RCHME as Wimborne St Giles 122 and by Grinsell as Wimborne St Giles 5, it was described by RCHME as a mound circa 38 feet in diameter and 1.5 feet high, but damaged and "made irregular" by ploughing. It adjoins the ditch of the neighbouring larger barrow SU 01 NW 172. It was excavated in the early 19th century by Cunnington and Hoare (their barrow 5). According to Hoare, it "contained a simple interment of burned bones within a cist at the depth of two feet from the surface".
