More information : (TG 03194405) Carmelite Friary (NR) (Site of) (1)

House of Carmelite Friars at Blakeney, alias Sniterley, founded between 1304-16 and dissolved 1538. (2)

"A length of wall showing arches is all that remains". (3)

Fragments of monastic walling survive at the NE corner of the house (TG 03204405), with a doorway in the N wall of an adjacent building at TG 03214401. Both are obscured by garden plants - not photographed. The wall 'showing arches' was not identified. (4)

Friarage farmhouse, incorporating the friary remains, shows many periods of alteration with modern addition, and is not outstanding. Now clear of plant growth, the NE corner of the house as described by Auth.4, shows the part outline of 2 pointed arches. See ground photographs. (5)
