| Summary : The earthwork remains of a dam associated with the water management system at Croxden Abbey. The dam is situated 280 metres to the west of the abbey church and stands up to 4 metres high and over 12 metres wide at its base. To the west of this dam there would once have been a large pond over 100 metres wide and several hundred metres in length. The pond, which is now dry, would have been the principal source of water for the monastery. |
