Summary : Possible pottery kiln, part of the Donyatt Pottery Industry, identified from a pottery scatter which was recorded following ploughing of the field sometime after 1945. The pottery is 17th-18th century in date. Field investigations in 1960 failed to locate any finds or traces of kilns.
More information : Pottery has been made in the Donyatt area since Medieval times. Shortly after 1945 a number of fields were ploughed and pottery scatters located. A scatter comprising 17th-18th century pottery was recorded at ST 32471362. No kiln site or pottery scatters were identified during field investigations. (1-2)
