Summary : Clay pits (site 19) part of the Donyatt Pottery industry identified in Shave Lane. The pits were opened during the late 19th century and expolited by the Arlidge Family who operated one of the kilns (ST 31 SW 25). Fieldwalking in 1970 located pottery dating from the 15th-18th century, it is thought some of the material had been dumped here, as the site has been used as a rubbish pit.
