Summary : Pottery kiln (Site 6) part of the Donyatt pottery industry, identified in an orchard in Donyatt. The site was first documented in 1838 when it comprised a building with a round kiln at the north end. It is thought that this may have been the site of Martin's pottery. Excavations in 1972 located deposits of burnt clay, pottery and building material produced during the demolition of the kiln. |
