Summary : Three Roman inscribed Tombstones were seen in 1688 in Lazonby churchyard, all of which had been brought from the fort at Old Penrith (NY 43 NE 2). They are now lost.
More information : (NY 5492 3975) A number of Roman stones, including three with
inscriptions used as grave stones at Lazonby Church, were brought
from the Roman fort at Old Penrith (NY 43 NE 2), and recorded by
Bishop Nicholson in 1688. (1)(2)
