Summary : 1770, tall kitchen garden walls, immediately south of the stables and riding school, mostly of red brick with stone copings, althought some are stone faced (particularly the southern wall overlooking the river terrace). There are two pairs of wrought iron gates (with heraldic crests in the overthrows) in this southern wall, with square sandstone piers. The eastern pair of piers are surmounted by large plaster vases. Within the eastern section of the walled gardens is an octagonal, single storey brick cottage, with a low pitched slate roof. |
