DROITWICH AUSTIN FRIARY

The Augustine Friary at Droitwich was founded in 1331 when Thomas Alleyn obtained license to build an oratory and habitation on a plot of land 300ft square, which was enlarged in 1343 and 1351 by a further gift of land. A deed of 1388 records the founding of an anchoreite's cell. It was dissolved in 1538. There are no extant remains.
