More information : Small areas of broad Medieval ridge and furrow were seen in the parish of Marton cum Moxby as earthworks and soil marks and mapped from air photographs. In the eastern part of the parish, discrete areas surrounding the village of Marton in the Forest and the moated site of The Rush (SE 66 NW 5) remain extant. Also areas of broad medieval and narrow post medieval ridge and furrow survives as earthworks adjacent to Marton Abbey (SE 56 NE 2). Additional records for ridge and furrow exist for the map SE 57 SE. They were recorded by The Howardians Hills NMP Project, where each block of ridge and furrow was recorded in a separate monument record. (1-2) |
