Summary : 18th century farmhouse on the site of a Cluniac grange.
More information : (SO 85609354) Woodford Grange (NAT) (1) Grants of land in the mid-12th c around Trysull and Seisdon to the Cluniac Priory of Dudley (SO 99 SW 4) show the origin of the extra-parochial district of Woodford Grange. On the Dissolution Woodford was granted to Sir John Dudley. (2) SO 85559358. The present farmhouse of Woodford Grange is an 18th c building of brick. One of the farm-buildings contains a date-stone inscribed 1773. No trace of earlier buildings was seen. (3) No change since report of 10.7.58. (4)
