Summary : The otter pool at London Zoo was designed by John Toovey following a brief by otter expert Jeremy Harris and constructed in 1969. It was built on the site of an earlier beaver pond and comprises a raised pool retained by a concrete wall with glass panels to allow visitors to see the otters underwater. Also present is a small brick-walled den. The area is enclosed by a low brick wall.
